Brain Waves: The Science Of Spiritual Abilities

Brain waves are neuro oscillations that are basically comprised of a series of electrical impulses that are in a constant state of flow throughout the brain with their own rhythm and pattern that ripples throughout the central nervous system. These waves are typically measured in cycles per second, but you may know it as Hz (hertz). There are five main states of brain waves that are commonly known: Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta. Now some may argue there is six with the sixth being Sub-Delta, but we won't go that in depth on this article.
Now you may be sitting there going why is any of this even remotely important to spirituality, whelp it's not. But it does make things more easily understood when people are delving into mediation, channeling, mental mediumship, and trance mediumship to understand why and how the brain works. To look at "quieting the mind" in a different way for my non-neurotypicals and my over thinkers can be quite fun. Each of the abilities I listed above actually correspond to a particular brain wave and the longer you can maintain the brain wave the easier and free-er the information can be received. That also goes for the person who tries to meditate and falls asleep, or "wakes-up and remembers nothing", you are sinking too deep into a slow function.
The Five Levels:
Gamma: (30hz-100hz) - Highest level of brain function, expanded consciousness, peak focus, and in-depth problem solving and high level of concentration
Beta: (12hz-30hz) - Second Highest level of brain function, active thinking, daily brain & function, alertness, and moderate concentration
Alpha: (8hz-12hz) - Third Highest level of brain function, relaxation, creativity, and visualizations. (I say this is where space is beginning to occur for messages to begin to be received) Also the state where self-judgement and awareness begin to exist around 8hz and can extend into Beta range as well)
Theta: (5hz-8hz) - Fourth Highest level of brain function, dreaming, memory, intuition, and heavy visualizations and trace-like flow states occur.
Delta: (0.5hz-5hz) - Fifth Highest level of brain function, deep sleep, nervous system restoration, and detached awareness, often a dreamless state.
Without going too in-depth here, Theta is the range of which Trance Mediumship occurs in as well as astral projection. Alpha is the range most typically where Mental Mediumship occurs in. Now channeling has a very wide and sometimes downright delusional range of which people are claiming to receive messages. Now because it is so loosely accepted as what I call an umbrella term; it sits amongst a range of levels from high Alpha to deeper Theta.
You may be sitting there asking yourself why is this important, whelp, here's the deal, knowing that most things occur between Alpha and Theta as far as messages, receivership, and spirit communication go that means when you sit down and concentrate really, really hard to "hear a message" or trying to "figure out who to do this" you are actively working against yourself by placing your brain into Beta or even Gamma. When you hear me, and Keys talk about surrender it means in this case to relax and to calm the nervous system. The deeper and the longer you can maintain the calmness the easier you can continue to receive things. Maintain is the key! If you calm down and then hear in your head "Blue Ball" and all of a sudden you begin to think about the blue ball you have actually pulled yourself out of Alpha into Beta, which is probably why you feel you get "nothing" after that.
This is the most basic example of just a series of things you can understand by just knowing this basic model. The ability for you to sink into lower brain ranges at will, will definitely help you in your channel, mediumship, and spirit work. While the expansion and steady work on Trance states may not directly assist in your other abilities, I do believe it will help you maintain higher Alpha frequencies with more ease, because you have to pass through Alpha to reach Theta and if you can maintain Theta than maintaining Alpha shouldn't be an issue.
Remember it's your abilities and there is no set way to work with them, but sometimes blending science with the spiritual world can be fun and helpful. I hope you enjoyed this little scale and please refer back to it as many times as you wish.
